I’ve just read this while out in my apartment building’s yard while my harness-and-leashed cat and I watch birds and squirrels visit the bird feeders. The sun and breeze are just right.

I’d say I’m a 75% indoor cat myself. Two of my three special interests are indoor activities (reading, making food).

My outdoor special interest is geocaching. “Hiking with a purpose”. But I’m a fair weather geocacher.

I have recently conquered my fears of snakes and spiders. However, just because I’m not afraid of them anymore doesn’t mean they aren’t gross. 😆

People who proselytize the magnificence of the outdoors are neurotypicals who don’t have sensory sensitivities. Anyone who says that nature is peaceful has not been overwhelmed by high-pitched and/or annoyingly repetitive bird calls, or had a meltdown from mosquitoes or other bugs flying near their face/head.

Letting go of other people’s expectations of how I should live my life is an ongoing project.
