Wednesday at 8am PT, 11am ET, 4pm UK, and 5pm Europe we will be getting together on Zoom to discuss the Book of the Month, Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey.

We Will Rest is a manifesto, a balm, and a call to collective refusal. Written by the founder of The Nap Ministry, the book confronts grind culture as a system of harm rooted in capitalism and white supremacy. Hersey argues that exhaustion is not a personal failure but a political condition, and that rest is a necessary, reparative response. To rest, in this framing, is to resist a world that demands endless output at the expense of our bodies and spirits.

Blending spiritual grounding, cultural critique, and lived experience, We Will Rest invites readers to slow down, listen to their bodies, and reclaim rest as a collective right rather than an individual luxury. This is not productivity advice or self-care repackaged. It is a radical reorientation toward human dignity, imagination, and survival. Hersey does not ask permission for rest. She names it as necessary, urgent, and overdue, and calls on us to dream a world where slowing down is how we begin to heal.
