Listen now | In this episode, Matt and Angela explore executive function in autistic individuals and how it evolves and manifests differently as we age.
I self-identified as Autistic in 2020 at the age of 45 and was officially diagnosed in 2023.
Hearing Matt talk about his Crash Days was so validating for me! No other neurodivergent person in my life experiences the same thing and I’ve never heard about it from anyone online. I have a Crash Day every week. I just didn’t know how to explain them. I have now adopted (and capitalized as a proper noun) his Crash Day terminology. 🤩💝
It was also the deciding factor in me becoming a paid subscriber. I learn so much from every episode!
Wow, thank you for taking on this subject! There are some potent nuggets of insight from both hosts about aging with autism, and I have forwarded a link to the podcast to NT family members who are wanting to better understand my situation. As a 60+, very late diagnosed female, I can say that these challenges just become greater with each passing year. Thank you, Angela and Matt, for your willingness to share with the community the truth of your own experiences!!
Hot flashes are making my life so difficult. Night sweats, sleep disturbances, needing to change my clothes all day, additional laundry, and then the gaslighting from doctors that the HRT “should” be helping. Night sweats and hot flashes are a sensory nightmare. I’m hot or I’m cold…there’s no in between. Just take my uterus and make it stop!
What do you mean half (or more) of the problems I have are related to autism ?! Whaaaatttt dry eyes are common in autistics folks omfg I'm gonna scream

Are they not willing to increase your dose? HRT has been amazing for me.
We’re still playing around with dosage but I’m also prone to fibroids and may have adenomyosis.
